Kyla Kay
Director
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Kyla danced her way to Canada, bringing a wealth of experience in the performing arts. Starting her dance journey at age three, she trained in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and acrobatic dance, leading to a successful career as a professional dancer.
Kyla has worked on acclaimed productions like Annie, Into the Woods, Les Misérables, and The Wizard of Oz, both onstage and as a choreographer. Her in-depth performance and choreography experience, along with extensive film and TV training, allows her to teach with a unique perspective, helping students master their craft and perform with confidence.
Kyla is dancing on tiptoes with excitement to share her expertise and help the next generation of performers shine with Imagine This!
Lannette New
Director
Having graced the stage in Vancouver’s community and professional musical theatre circuits, and having enjoyed success in the film and commercial worlds, Lannette understands, a) the dedication it takes to shine as a performer, and b) the unbelievable (yet very real) joy that it brings.
After a loving hiatus to focus on her family, Lannette made a triumphant return to the stage, with her family's support reminding them all that the spotlight is where she truly belongs. Her pure soprano voice now soars on stage, and she also delights in singing with an a cappella quintet, all of which fills her heart with joy!
Lannette brings her passion to Imagine This, bubbling with eagerness to create a constellation of opportunities for every star to twinkle brightly.
